Live on YOOX, more than 500 items of her clothing to support her namesake charity

On February 11, the Franca Sozzani Private Collection will be available on YOOX, an exclusive selection of memorable designer pieces cherished by the fashion icon and late visionary Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia, which sale proceeds will benefit the new Franca Sozzani Fund for Preventive Genomics at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard (francafund.org).

To fundraise for this charitable cause, Franca Sozzani’s son, filmmaker and photographer Francesco Carrozzini, has decided to donate her wardrobe and has chosen YOOX, through its founder and friend Federico Marchetti,  to support this initiative and present an edited selection of 397 ready-to-wear and haute couture pieces, as well as 190 accessories.

Tracing back Franca Sozzani’s career and the major fashion moments that have seen her at the forefront of the fashion scene for almost three decades, her clothing, bags, and shoes will be presented through five categories, The Eclectic, The Black Tale, The Londoner, The Unconventional and The Dream Dimension that best honor her style and sensibilities.

Franca Sozzani’s Italian edition of Vogue became an important voice in fashion with stunning, but hard-hitting photoshoots, which addressed societal issues that went beyond fashion, ranging from domestic violence to climate change. Leveraging upon her influence as one of the most powerful industry icons, she had also put herself at the forefront to sensitize public opinion towards our world’s main plagues, challenging the medical community to revolutionize its approach towards disease prevention and treatment.

To honor and pursue her dedication, Francesco Carrozzini has decided to institute the new Franca Sozzani Fund for Preventive Genomics at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard. The Fund will enhance research into disease prevention by leveraging genomic information and cutting-edge precision medicine, thus improving outcomes for those with genetic predisposition.

Her humanitarian spirit will also live on through the Franca Sozzani Chair at Harvard Medical School, which will be set up within the next three years, with a portion of the funds raised.

Carrozzini’s intimate biography of his mother, Franca: Chaos and Creation, published by Assouline, also debuting globally on February 11, will be available for sale on YOOX.
