Diversity & Inclusion

We aspire to foster a culture in which our colleagues, customers and partners feel valued, respected, and welcomed.

Guided by the commitments set within the People Positive pillar of Infinity, our sustainability strategy, we want to build a more inclusive world for our business, industry and beyond.

Our colleagues

Gender Equality in Tech

Our D&I journey has been particularly focused on accelerating gender equality in technology, a sector where women are traditionally underrepresented. We began by increasing technology accessibility and education for young people, especially women, with digital training projects that have provided coding classes to over 10,000 children. Since then, we internally launched the Women in Tech Employee Resource Group (ERG).

Today, women represent more than 60% of YOOX NET-A-PORTER employees, over half of our senior leadership team and almost 30% of our technology team*.

We are committed to supporting our colleagues and ensuring their voices are recognised and amplified.

Our Diversity & Inclusion Council was established in September 2020. The Council facilitates a safe and open environment for dialogue between colleagues and leaders, and is given a platform to accelerate change and raise awareness throughout the organisation. It includes two YOOX NET-A-PORTER Executive Committee members, to influence greater change across all levels of the business.

In addition to our internal Women in Tech network, we created two ERGs: the Ethnic Equality Network and the Pride Network. These groups support our D&I Council in progressing transformative change within the business. We encourage colleagues to participate as active members or mindful allies and support our internal community in celebrating key milestones such as Black History Month (UK and US), Pride and Women’s History Month.

We want our people to bring their authentic selves to work.

In addition to our ongoing learning opportunities, all YOOX NET-A-PORTER senior leadership team members and people managers complete a mandatory live workshop focused on inclusive leadership, to better understand how an inclusive culture supports people in fulfilling their potential.

A bespoke Unconscious Bias training has been designed with the active collaboration of our ERGs, continuing our journey from Unconscious Bias to Conscious Inclusion.

We also recognise the power of our employees, whose passion and knowledge play a crucial part in our efforts to drive positive change. To support our local communities, our company-wide volunteering policy enables everyone in our global workforce to dedicate two paid volunteering days per year.

The fashion community

We want to support in driving positive change in the fashion industry and ensure that our values and actions as a company reflect the world we envision.

Across YOOX NET-A-PORTER’s editorial, social and commercial channels, we feature models from diverse backgrounds and celebrate the work of BIPOC designers, brand founders, activists and other creative industry talent as part of our Responsible Marketing Policy.

Our buyers across YOOX NET-A-PORTER are continuously working to amplify BIPOC-owned brands and are committed to supporting the best new design talents. Through our flagship talent programmes – YOOX NET-A-PORTER’s The Modern Artisan, NET-A-PORTER’s The Vanguard, MR PORTER’s FUTURES and YOOX’s VOGUE YOOX Challenge – we strive to diversify and support the next generation as they embark on their careers in the luxury and fashion industry.
