In line with its commitment to promoting digital education and gender equality, on April 5th YNAP partook in the 2018 Global Gender Parity Week in Milan, supporting Valore D’s “Parity of Gender in the Digital Revolution” event along with Boston Consulting Group Italia.
Representing YNAP at the event was Matteo James Moroni, Head of Internal Audit & Sustainability, who took part in a panel along with Paola Mascaro, Board Member of ValoreD and Communications & Public Affairs Director of General Electric, and Roberta Cocco, Councilor for Digital Transformation and Civic Services of the Municipality of Milan. Their discussions focused on analyzing different aspects of the Gender Gap and how their respective companies are working to correct it and was moderated by Micaela Cappellini, journalist for IlSole24Oreand Alley Oop’s online section. According to the World Economic Forum, the Global Gender Gap in 2017 was on average 32%, with Italy ranking in 82nd place in terms of countries with the lowest gender gap.
During the event, the partners also launched the 2018 edition of Digital Essentials, an education initiative to enhance the digital skills of women and girls. The initiative supports their professional development through workshops and digital training, hosted by YNAP leaders, on specific topics such as the business value of data and digital footprint.
Digital Essentials is part of YNAP’s broader Digital Education programme, which aims to enhance the digital skills of younger generations, and specifically girls, in order to create a more equal future for all.
